I think the pants are fine, at first glance they looked like a lighter weight trouser which I think would be an awkward pairing with the more structured feeling utilitarian top half.

Regardless I still get lost at the pants interaction with the boots, for the stocky wider proportions I would expect a more substantial less dainty feeling footwear choice. Maybe the angle/sequins are just throwing me off but I feel like a taller slimmer shaft combat or something really thick like yeezy duck boots would be cool
