They are just BDU pants that are sized up and cropped. The cinches on the side keep them from bunching up weird in the front

I understand what you mean, i suppose it’s difficult to answer too. I’m not sure exactly what resources I could recommend, to be honest information is scant on some of these brands, and to be honest it’s less about the brand and more about the product. If there’s a common thread between them it’s a dedication to quality, authentic reproductions, whether workwear or militaria. Some brands are more dedicated to authenticity than others, but the passion for the products of the past is there.

repro brands are big in Japan, I believe both real McCoy’s and buzz rickson originated there... orslow is “slow fashion” so you could start by searching for that and any adjacent brands. all the aforementioned brands lean into more timeless pieces than statement so bear that in mind too. They’re not flashy but moreso “if u know u know” pusha t voice

Yes! Buzz Rickson’s is owned by Toyo Enterprises, Toyo also owns Sugar Cane, and Sun Surf, and i believe has some sort of association with Mister Freedom. The Real McCoy’s have a little bit more of a muddled history, that i’m assuming has been intentionally buried.
