  • Drill was dominating the city for a while but outside of a few acts like 41 most of them washed out. Cash cobains sound was the wave for last 1-2 years but I’m not sure how much more longevity it has. And the a boogies, lil tjays copycats of the city are left behind.

    So yea it’s pretty open.

Cash is okay, but he's not really busting the door open for the East

Pop could've got things back on track for the East, but then madness happened

Idc what y'all say. That classic dusty NY sound will always stay alive to me.

They just need a sound that's funky for lyricists to make bops to.

  • nah need more pop smoke type energy cutting edge, meshed with that regional ethos, not someone performing a sound that’s been perfected many times over

We need something completely new from anywhere

  • Tired of that sexy drill/cash cobain s***, niggas use that as a easy way out especially washed up rappers because it’s so easy to make

    Drill period is ass tho

  • The east coast need another DMX type of figure. Somebody that is just undeniable.

  • Ny was better when everybody was different

  • inspoeater

The Conductor beats is a huge step, but we need them to get producers to have funky/pop friendly sound with lyricism, but still sound like East Coast.

Imo, a little hot take, but they had something like that with the "Bling Bling" era with Bad Boy and Puff.

    You mean Shiny Suit?

    Anything but that imo

That era hurt Hip Hop heavy and if had it not been for the arrival of DMX, that would have been the norm

  • There has been huge underground culture bubbling for almost a decade. People like to be force fed artists nowadays though. Fans have been eating a ton especially post Covid
