I think celebrities are fine, if someone does something amazing or great that gets recognized by a large group of people, I think its a normal part of human nature to have celebrities. Think back in history.

The problem becomes when people begin to think these people are anything other than human, and put them on a pedestal above themselves even.

Thats just corporations working to milk the cash cow
