nice lil project from Ojerime. smart marketing too, fans love an interlude and beg for extended versions
Mariah the Scientist album is solid, this one and the Thug duet are my favorites. Free Thug
Mariah x KAYTRANADA it's cool but her vocals gotta be more...colorful over that type of production
i'll save the other releases to check out after I wake up, can't have my first Rema or Sofia Kourtesis listens laid up in bed in the pitch black night lol

played Rema's RAVAGE EP twice back to back on the wake up. 5/5 every song hits. melodies, vocals, PRODUCTION is especially crazy tbh. the strings all over this are i love the artwork too
Don't Leave is my early favorite, need to hear that out THIS weekend. also Troublemaker, starts off the project perfectly.
DESTIN CONRAD's album is solid. will need to spin it a couple more times but not sure if I vibe with it all the way thru like COLORWAY and SATIN. intro is smooth as a b**** tho.
KIRA'S WEEKLY REVIEWS: 10/13
†††(Crosses) - Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. 6.5-7/10
Chino Moreno (from the GOATed band Deftones) returns once again with his sexy ahh voice on some melancholic Synth/Electropop instrumentals. Sure, it can sound one-dimensional/bland on some songs but when that s*** hits it really hits and a lot of the times it does.

Bad Bunny – nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana 6/10
Bad Bunny returns to Trap. His OG fans might be happy now after complaining about him going pop. But y’all know what? I think Bad Bunny shines more when he experiments in Latin Pop, Reggaeton, Dancehall/Afrobeats and other genres. Un verano sin ti is my favourite project of his and it was THE summer album for me last year. Después de la playa, Tarot, Enséñame a bailar, El apagón, Tità me preguntó, Otro atardecer, Neverita - so many different sounds/genres and he performed well on all of those. Also, his song on Tainy’s album this year (which is a great project btw) MOJABI GHOST is one of the best he’s ever released.
I even liked his Jersey club inspired single WHERE SHE GOES and I was ready for a crazy project.
Trap Bunny stans will probably heavily fw this - but even they won’t deny that this project doesn’t come close to X 100PRE. The highlights on this project are really nice tho - WHERE SHE GOES, Baticano, ACHO PR, UN PREVIEW, Perro Negro, Nadie sabe, Monaco.

Ken Carson - A GREAT CHAOS 5/10
A lot of fans from the OPIUM-sphere seem to really fw this. Some of the beats really go crazy on this one but I don‘t really care for Ken Carson‘s vocal performance and prefer Destroy Lonely more from this camp. This tape has a few bangers, tho.

MIKE - Burning Desire 6/10
Instrumentally, it‘s some amazing sample-based hip hop. Lyrically, I think Mike does his thing too - as always. Now, do I fw his mumbely flow? Sometimes. But can I enjoy it for a whole project? Not really. I appreciate his artistry and he’s definitely one of the more interesting rappers from the Drumless underground scene but I guess his s*** is not really for me.

Offset - SET IT OFF 5/10
The album actually starts with solid songs but then it falls off pretty quick. This is just another generic trap record imo and it’s disappointing because I fw Without Warning a lot.

Westside Gunn - And Then You Pray for Me 5.5/10
I think WSG is the most interesting member of Griselda. He doesn’t have the best rhymes or punchlines ofc but he shines in charisma, uniqueness, incredible beat selection and usually crafts good album experiences. But all of these characteristics are missing here and it results to probably his weakest project that I know of. I don’t have anything against rappers like him trying to rap on trap beats but some of these songs are just straight up dumpster juice. He might have to stick to sample based boom bap s***.

Sampha - Lahai 9/10
That new Brent is crazyyyyyx.
about to do a second listen but that s*** was sounding like something last night, and i'm not usually a fan of bruh
2nd listen, raw thoughts
Larger Than Life is already Brent's best project for me. It reminds me of when Blood Orange dropped that Angel's Pulse tape, just a fun easygoing listen with a bunch of collabs that keep the energy up throughout the project. I've been in need of more male R&B all year, so this might help hold me down while I wait on PND
some of my favorite singles that dropped in the last week or two
lojii & Alexander Spit - $TARTER PACK
beabadoobee & Laufey - A Night to Remember
mk.gee - Are You Looking Up?
LAHAI by Sampha is pretty great. wasn't super into it on first listen but it's been growing on me and it's such an easy listen. easy to put on and just let it run. I don't if i'll ever like it on the same level as Process but yea.. Sampha one of the GOATs for sure.
Larger Than Life is a solid project. loving the production. I like how this has more of a chill relaxed structure to it. It's chill R&B music, Brent has really kind of mastered this sound and I can see myself playing this all winter.
we've made it to the month of November, end of the year is quickly approaching

Sampha - Lahai
Drake - For All the Dogs
MIKE - Burning Desire
Brent Faiyaz - Larger than Life
not the most packed month when it came to albums but there were some great singles released this month.
