Insider that leaked Tyler headlining Coachella said that he's preparing to drop a new album with a world tour following it. Coachella is in 3 weeks and the show the stage production is "massive and his most wild yet". He's likely had this album ready to go for a while, but Coachella most likely wanted him to debut the album at the festival which is why his release cycle got thrown off.

I really doubt he delayed his release a year for Coachella

My prediction is the next album has a full length film attached and he been working on that so that’s why he’s taking extra time
