Everything nowadays is inclusive and a subculture. Within someone's personal clique,the song of the summer to them could be anything. Thats just how it is nowadays,no one stands out.

What I meant by that was confusing, I apologize. it's deeper than just not understanding the lyrical content. Again not trying to s*** talk his music any more than I already have, and I enjoy many songs that aren't in English ofc (I am monolingual)

It's moreso that I feel like his songs would be more enjoyable if you had listened to a lot of Spanish-language pop and were able to appreciate the distinctions/not think it all sounded the same (which would be enabled by the different lyrical content)

Like if you don't "know" classical or jazz, a lot of the times you can listen and be like "alright that was cool but I don't know what made that 'good' or unique within the parameters of the genre"

I didn’t really enjoy listening to jazz at all before I understood it a little bit as far as structure

to be honest it's probably my own personal hangup; in retrospect, a lot of spanish language music just reminds me of my grandparents and an endless assortment of identical-sounding songs performed by mariachi bands in dimly lit taquerias, so its hard for me to see it as hip and sexy lol
