one can chat about the decline of rappers or pop stars or music industry til theyre blue in the face, so i wanted to shoutout something that ive been noticing for a little while, at least since last year

man these music memes been absolutely incredible recently. first of all im glad that all of that is pretty much exclusively on ig now so i dont have to parse twitter tiktok or discords -- stuff just finds me because all the good ones get posted everywhere. second, im glad that we got most music pages that were all fantano-adjacent humor outta here and there are some newer better ones being able to thrive in their own niche. ive seen some great jazz meme pages, progressive rock meme pages, great classic rock and especially dylan and grateful dead memes. my girl shows me all types of funny grunge memes. theres still some folks posting about obvious s*** like radiohead but all of that is countered by all the cool ones you can find to fit your liking. also have yall seen all the elvis memes recently? these oh mama jokes are killing me every time

and finally everyone just got f***ing funny! even metal pages are posting funny s*** now and not just boomer humor; i dont think ill ever get tired of Crowbar memes for example. and the fact that musicians are on ig see them and like them and even comment under them. just goes to show theyre music fans first and foremost, and seeing s*** liked by zeroh or joey purp or guys from oh sees is like a little cool extra on top of an already good reel

all of that is coming from someone who generally dislikes reels, stan culture, and niche humor. but recently ive been genuinely enjoying all of that stuff
