PRINCED3VILLElol LUPE IS NOT ON A MAJOR ANYMORE AND TURNED DOWN MAJOR LABEL OFFERS after he left Atlantic. He was already losing fans before that to begin with after Lasers. He rarely does interviews or features anymore. He’s intentionally low key right now and enjoys it. He’s had a decently successful career already with plenty of gold records and platinum singles and was an influence to artists like J Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Wale, etc before they got on.
I don’t see the point in bringing up his shrunken fan base and lower sales now like that’s supposed to take away from the fact that he’s one of the most skilled rappers to ever come out lol.
To answer your question: it's an attempt to look cool/sound funny for the internet

Just listening to the first song Ghoti now. The whole first verse. Just saying a bunch of dope bars together that don’t go together and make zero sense one after the other. They sound intelligent though.

I lost all interest in this project. I don’t believe an artist who complained about his label blocking his distribution would take this long to release a project that was done last year. Idgaf what he said about it, this project wasn’t made in 3 days. If you’re reviewing and revising for months on end, you’re not done yet lol.
I heard his single and said I’m not listening to this BS. Dude said he made his version illmatic and his single didn’t even slap
Based off the single I know there isn’t one song on here better than “kick push” or “superstar.” And if there isn’t, how is it his illmatic?

I get that vibe to, but with this album each word has a lot more purpose in the meaning and points he gets across, the mood being painted, as well as for the actual architecture of the verses themselves. It's not just for the sake of saying words
