Safe to say post Not Like Us has resulted in The West taking back the wave. Majority of quality rap releases this year were from the west or were west inspired. Then you got Snoop and Dre reuniting at the end of the year for the first time since Doggystyle.

Drakeo The Ruler and Nipsey Hussle were going on legendary runs and didnt get their flowers while they were alive

Even the big artist from there like Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, and Doja Cat have people constantly downplaying them and their accomplishments

One of the times I actually agree with you. It’s frustrating that this site is propping up a whole bunch of mediocre albums. This site is pretty much handing out participation prizes merely based on the fact that an artist from the west coast decided to drop an album this year. Even if the west is really beating every other coast they most certainly not on fire the way they want you to believe

I really ended up understanding that line better when a bunch of east coast rappers and media people came out and was pushing the narrative that Kendrick already lost while the beef was still taking place
