Yes, because until this beef, we didn't judge diss tracks based on which songs put up the biggest numbers.

Drake lost on every other metric outside of the numbers too, but it’s just funny because numbers are all yall had going for you lmao

It’s also interesting that Drake songs themselves didn’t put up any numbers during this beef, or the feature after, did the stimulus go on vacation?

Every Drake feature doesn't do monster numbers but he has given out a lot more hits with his features than any other artists and he still continues to put up bigger numbers with his music than any other rapper. Where were y'all when MMATBS dropped? That was Kendrick's first album in 5 years and his first album after his biggest album. Where was this support then?

  • Jun 16, 2024

I’m going to give him one more album roll out to decide if he’s falling off. It depends on what new rapper he’s going to leech off of, which he’s been doing for several years.

If he finds the right wave to ride again, the narrative about Drake will change.

Atlanta rap is in a weird place right now so he can’t go that route. The West Coast is loyal to Kendrick. And there’s no new artist with real momentum, it will be interesting to see what he does.

He didn’t say anything about the quality of the songs, why are people doing more numbers mentioning Drake than Drake himself is during the beef?

Because quality is subjective and saying he has fallen off quality-wise as a fact is silly because the people who keep massively listening to Drake's recent music clearly don't think so.

If you wanna bring up his numbers, that's a stupid point because everyone's numbers are down in rap but Drake is still putting up the biggest numbers.

After a lil break, you never know man. He just might

One thing I've noticed though, is that Ye used to thrive under pressure the best, which is how we got MBDTF, but he had to retreat to Hawaii or some s***.

Maybe Drake doesn't even need the time off and I'm offbase, but it wouldn't hurt to regroup

Since 2006, when Drake started dropping projects, when has he ever taken an extensive break? He's never been that kind of artist and he'll never be that artist. He's said so himself many times: he doesn't need 3-5 years to make a project.

Over a month since not like us and it's still the same dozen posts from these guys every single day

It is starting to seem like this is the best thing that will happen for them all year

You’d think they would get tired of hearing the same jokes, the same takes, and the same performative, over the top worship of Midrick on a daily basis

Can’t expect much better from KAnon stans, however!

Y'all the ones who keep bringing up numbers as proof of him losing. That's the biggest argument y'all have in this beef: Kendrick's diss songs put up bigger numbers so there's no way he didn't win. Even when people bring up how they feel Family Matters is the best song released in the battle, your response is always "well, then why did it flop?"

Y'all been raving about Not Like Us and it's commercial performance since it dropped so stop acting like y'all haven't been obsessed about numbers in this beef.

What facts do you want? Sales numbers? Does that equal good music to you? Drakes last 5 albums or so have all gotten mixed reception

Critics like rolling stone, meta critic, Fantano and all of that can be bought so is ultimately up to each consumer to define whether his music is “good” or “bad” and by the way he’s been selling and getting more streams since 2020 I think they still like him a lot. Specially when his latest tour outsold Kendrick with less venues and north America only

Drake has shown multiple times when his back against the wall the best doesnt come out of him (e.g. Scorpion, story of adidion response, heart pt 6, etc.)

Some ppl dont react well to counter punches

I can see an instant comeback working in his favor if the single/video/project he's working on is a massive undeniable hit. It's just that the optics now are a lil different, you know? These niggas were slinging serious mud at each other.

And? Do y'all think everyone who listens to Drake cared about this beef? Or you think everything he's done in the last 15 years is automatically erased because of the beef? How powerful do y'all think Kendrick is? So powerful that NONE of this support was there for his last album? And do you think the internet just started hating on Drake? That has never stopped anything. It won't start now.

Anytime Drake does anything interesting musically it’s because he’s either riding a young artists wave or they literally wrote the song for him.

Only people still clinging on to Drake being some top force musically and culturally are cringe millennials and older gen z that peaked in 2016 😹

What's inaccurate about this statement? And yes, that's accurate because until this beef, we didn't judge the impact and quality of diss tracks based on numbers.
