Trailer wise doesn’t, at this stage, this look pretty much like asteroid city probably looked at trailer #1? Lots of that films themes and actually tangible emotional swings weren’t really evident from the trailer iirc. That looked like kooky wes Anderson americana sci fi, this looks like kooky wes anderson desert espionage

There could easily be a asteroid city level movie in what the trailer shows

the criticism Wes gets nowadays reminds me a lot of the criticism Haruki Murakami gets (besides his inability to write about women)

people want these artists to switch it up and do something different, but imo when an artist has such a signature style they've developed over the years it's normal for them to lean into it instead of trying to reinvent the wheel

Wes is elite at making quirky comedies with ensemble casts and a lot of attention to detail regarding sets and costumes

it is what it is at this point and I wasn't expecting anything else from this film, if you want another style watch another director

Feel the same, like it would be one thing if he was repeating the same plot points as well but he's giving us unique and fully fleshed out stories set in the same Wes universe
