I think WS is cutting edge only in the sense that he’s taking that “90’s sound” and putting a modern spin on it with way more interesting production. No one is doing what Griselda is doing rn as far as “coke rap”. They’re carrying on and evolving that Wu vibe

Those were really just to show him over eclectic production. Full albums show off his creativity the best

I wrote about my favorite Earl albums in that thread, pretty much sums up my thoughts. He broke a lot of new ground for hip hop which for some reason rarely gets mentioned enough, people say sLUms influenced him which is completely true but he influenced them first.

WSG is the gangsta rap Travis Scott, people are only checking for the features & the production. He’s always the weakest part of any project he drops.
