This could be for personal reasons like an emotional connection, or the grand scheme of the decade as a whole for music/culture

I think To Pimp a Butterfly came at the perfect time for the music industry and the world due to social and political issues, for example

While Blonde is probably the album of the decade that i have the closest emotional connection to,

or for instance whatever you think or know you listened to most

    Obvious answer but MBDTF.

2 or 3 others that I feel defined it too, but that one stands out the most to me, even over more recent ones

There's a few, I feel like both TPAB and GKMC both stand out for obvious reasons. Probably going with TPAB, but GKMC is equally as good and special for different reasons tbh.

The third one is easily Godfather by Wiley. This won't make sense to a lot of KTT users, which I totally get. But for me, this was his best album that came when nobody was expecting it to be so good, from a man who completely changed the music culture and industry of my country alongside a few other key players that he either practically A&R'd, mentored or introduced or was very close to. He created a sound of his own that nobody could have predicted would have infiltrated, inspired and influenced superstars across multiple genres internationally from Kanye to Diplo. It's a sound, culture and lifestyle that was used to break down doors and create opportunities in TV, Film, Radio, writing, business, fashion, live etc. It arguably helped give us incredible things like a whole generation of media personalities, homegrown talent, TV shows like Top Boy or a UK MC headlining Glasto to more questionable things like Ed Sheeran's superstardom It's hard to think of many other people making their best project on their 11th album. It's so powerful to me both musically and even lyrically to a lesser extent, which I think is missed by a lot of listeners who just see it as 17 bangers. It's coming 14 years after the greatest UK MC album OAT (BIDC), and to me would be a top 5 UK album of my lifetime, a hot take I know. Nobody could have predicted the sound him and a select few others created would have taken our culture to the places it did, and while I know why that probably doesn't matter to some people, it matters a lot to me.

The fourth one I'd throw in would probably be 21 by Adele. I don't listen to it, I'd rather hear Dylan doing the original Make You Feel My Love But there's no denying it was a monster that stood out in a lane of it's own, even if I do slightly feel a way about some people making out it was the second coming of what Amy started, when in reality it was something entirely different and nowhere near as special.

Drake probably should get a nod as well for lots of reasons.. I think NWTS is his best although a lot say TC, I think that one will eventually get the most love

21 did sold over 31 million copies worldwide (around 3 times what 1989 did) and was the longest female run on top of the Billboard Hot 200 OAT, making it the biggest Billboard album OAT.

Plus 3 US number one singles (all singles went 8x Platinum, 5x Platinum, 4x Platinum, 2x Platinum, Gold in the US).

That's your 2010s Thriller imo. Plus Taylor ending the decade weaker, Adele Queen of Tottenham going out with King of Tottenham Skepta, following a smash Bond theme, another record breaking album and not even on Album 4 yet And unlike Taylor she's a Ye stan
