Exmilitary is also rooted in hip hop. And I'm not saying Yeezus sounds exactly like it but Kanye must've heard there's an experimental hip hop wave these years. Too coincidental to say he wasn't influenced by them.
yeezus is kanye alone
it's fun to share disparate s*** beforehand but it would eb ret ar ded to suggest yeezus wasn't kanye's entire vision
no

Yeah it's a total coincidence that he worked with hudson mohawke and travis scott on cruel summer
No correlation at all

plucking genius from hudson mohawke

Yeah but he’s saying it’s weird how a small wave of experimental/industrial hip hop started gaining traction (Death Grips and Shabazz Palaces)
Then out of nowhere Ye makes an experimental/industrial hip hop album. I definitely feel like if that wave never started we wouldn’t have got Yeezus
like what reggae and drill influences are on Yeezus?
Blood On The Leaves? Hold My Liquor?
are you serious??
Reggae
Assassin feature on Im In It
Send It Up outro
I Am A God sample
Guilt Trip Blocka sample
Drill
yea the Blood on the Leaves drums not to mention he features both Keef and King Louie
hot take but this is better than metal box
Hot take: I like First Issue more than both! “Theme” is one of my favorite songs ever, “Public Image” is the best song the Pistols never got to make, love “Low Life”, love “Annalisa”, I even like “Fodderstompf”. First three records are all great, though, and I’d probably put Flowers second just for how “fuck you” it is.
Love this random deep cut:

Yeah I feel like people that b**** about these comparisons must’ve just been completely oblivious to what was going on in the underground around 2011/2012 because Ex Military was making insane waves when it dropped. People are f***ing cooked if they think Ye wasn’t very aware.
