We talk a lot about rap here but what are some of the classic, influential, gamechanging albums in the 2010s that released in other genres
Bonus points for s*** that doesn’t get posted here often and double bonus points for posting why it’s so great
I’ll start
I know xx released in 2009 but it’s been so important in the 2010s that I wanted to include it
These two albums went so far beyond just being great genre albums and were two of the most important projects of the whole decade
Albums that were gamechanging in their own right like Pure Heroine, Trilogy, LP1 among others would not exist without these two albums
They brought that dark minimalism into music, James Blake’s self titled especially toyed heavily with the idea of space and is the reason that pop music sounds the way it sounds today (thanks to the way Lorde built on the foundation he laid out).
They’re both incredibly quality projects that would be classics regardless but the impact they’ve had is the reason they deserve to be listed here
safe, i can post some ultra obscure s*** for brownie points, but i'm not gonna flex like that.
i'm just gonna stick to the script and post a certified classic from last decade
does this include R&B?
does this include R&B?
yea you can post r&b but ideally not just the typical stuff that gets posted
People underestimate this albums influence.
I will also argue that ep James Blake released before his s/t is more influential tbh
