  • Share some of your favorite hip hop moments/songs/lore that either isn’t discussed much by the GP, is lesser known, or you feel is an underrated moment.

This was inspired by listening to 4,3,2,1 by LL Cool J and how he dissed a rapper that was a feature on the god damn song with him

Only for Canibus to recruit motherfucking Mile Tyson and systematically rip LL to shreds on his response

It’s hard to think of another rap album that had 4 smash hits on it since then

  • Feb 1, 2022

When 50 Cent was up and coming dropped How To Rob which sent shockwaves all the way up to THE NY rapper Jay Z

And Jay Z bring so impressed that he told him backstage at Summerjam ‘99 I’m gonna have to get you back then proceeding to get on stage and say “I’m about a dollar what the f*** is 50 Cents” therefore legitimizing him before he started his unprecedented run in the 2000s

    MMG Era

MMG definitely was a powerhouse label with Meek becoming one of the hottest names in rap, Rick Ross being consistent and an established respectable name, and the left field signing of Wale who was arguably at the peak of his career

When Wayne showed why he was the greatest rapper alive

One of the most powerful moments in music history bruh

No dancers, singers, entourage, jumping around. He just went off

If you look at the comments you can see a few people mentioned when this first aired on BET. That’s when I knew Wayne was a living legend

This reminds me of the Kid Cudi 88 Keys freestyle. I remember seeing this video right before Day N Nite blew up. I don’t even think A Kid Named Cudi was out yet nor was he signed to Kanye.

His whole come up was incredible.

We don’t talk enough about how the literal best rapper alive in the apex of his career gave a co-sign to an up and coming artist and proceeded to exceed anyone’s wildest expectations. Incredible
