Travis, to me, is never trying to give off a soulful/human vibe. Feels like his goal is always just to make s*** that knocks and sounds cool

This a great example, I like some of the songs on this album but Jaden thought this s*** was a lot deeper than it actually is

Khaled's albums. They feel grand and he turns every release promo into an event, but they feel hollow.

Ngl i didnt listen to it besides 3 songs but a hate post without a cole mention feels wrong

ehhh i think he kinda nailed the approach you’re talking about a lot better on ASTROWORLD tbh, Utopia had a lot of questionable beat switches and pretty useless features here and there, that just kinda felt like he was padding s*** out—but ig what you mean

i was never a big Travis fan so take it w a grain of salt

yeah there’s some cool stuff on here for sure and the prod is amazing but it’s like the dude is rapping about absolutely nothing, it’s sprinkled with awful punchlines and dude weaved in some Greek myth s*** while talking about the Illuminati (?) s*** made zero sense man

definitely a guilty pleasure project for me tho

EVOL the best kind of soulless tho

That first four track run is legitimately breathtaking
