I’d be lying if I said the music my parents played around me didn’t shape who I was as a listener. That being said they never “forced” me to listen to music like at all lol they played music in the car that I had no choice but to listen to but that’s about it. Sure I moaned and groaned about it as a kid but as I got older

I want to do the same for my children, since I grew to appreciate those sentiments. I’d probably play them what I grew up on as they did; The Weeknd, Kanye, early 2000s pop. Plus some oldies I enjoy Pink Floyd, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, etc.

I doubt that your parents sat you down and said “you must listen to this” so idk why a lot of you are pretending that to be the case
