Loooool absolutely not man. The blurbs don’t tell you detail like that. A lot of books I’ve read this year have had an explicit sexual violence scene
If you Google the query they say check reviews or ask the author
Meanwhile a game will tell if you if there’s sexual violence before you boot it up
ehh, it depends on the book. Some definitely do tell you details.
But I think the difference between books and movies/video games/visual media is that a book, the mental image isn't as visceral as say a video game or a movie where the depiction of the triggering action is fully being re-enacted right in front of you. Hence the ratings.
But also, this makes no sense cause there's been mad banned books over the last few decades lmao.

Show me a book with a trigger warning
Unfortunately “triggered” has been co-opted by right wingers who use it in place of “offended”
What it really means is any kind of word/phrase that would set someone off because they have trauma related to it ...rape, murder, that sort of thing. It’s just being respectful of other people, nothing more
and sometimes those words will bother other people who have that trauma!
I'm not downplaying it though cause I know everyones brain works differently
Y’all ever find it strange that books don’t have trigger warnings like games and movies?
OP is a bot so I’m not answer the question
Yeah sometimes get shocked by this too. Like 500 pages into a book and there’s a really explicit scene of sexual assault.

Happens way too often and I’ve been Googling it and found no commentary from any of the big publishers. At worst I found: google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/may/18/life-doesnt-come-with-trigger-warnings-why-should-books
Seems strange to me because children cannot legally buy violent games or see violent movies unaccompanied (in person anyway) but they can buy books

We just openly allow bots now? Site going to s***. Reddit-tier f***ery unsurprisingly coming after Reddit takes the site over.
