Resident Evil 3 Remake: 8/10
Yakuza 0 is peak shouout to Kuze he a real one
death stranding - 7/10
I see the vision, and I love the vision. There was a big chunk in the mid-game where I was addicted to doing nothing except for developing a road and zipline logistics network so I could more efficiently deliver packages. There is nothing more I adore in the arts than when creators have the freedom to be unabashedly themselves and crank it up to 11, both the good and the bad. There's a ton of good here, and if it was just the good I probably give this a 9/10, but there's also a lot of bad that didn't contribute much to the game or actively took away my enjoyment of the game like navigating BT territory, combat and boss fights in general, and the pacing at the end that is like 2 hours of cutscenes. But really, at the end of the day my score doesn't matter. There are a ton of extremely polished games that I've rated higher than Death Stranding that I have very little interest in playing the sequels of, yet Death Stranding 2 is at the forefront of my mind despite this one's rating. If you frequent the anime thread you would know that I love using the word "soul." This game had soul. This game showed me something that only Kojima could have made, and I think in the arts making something that only you could have made should be the ultimate goal.
just beat medal of honor rising sun. not the smoothest fps mechanics but impressive levels and set pieces.
Playing the Batman games for the first time. I’m almost done with Arkham Asylum. This might be the perfect video game. Just enough collectibles. Just enough challenge. Replayability may not all be there, but the map size is perfect imo. There was that thread on RPG burn out and I think a game like this is the answer. Still give the player freedom/choice but also have it be linear in a sense. The only thing I could see added to this game would be more side quests that deepen the back stories of the other characters outside of just the tapes.

Arkham City will blow your mind
Might be a little bloated compared to Asylum, but imo it improves the formula so much it doesn’t really matter. Better story, bosses, Riddler puzzles, gadgets, progression. Plus you get side content. City gets so much right
Beat Asylum. That was fun but the joker boss left something to be desired. Gonna go watch Tuner while City downloads.
