Just finished Ori and the Blind Forest; a heartwarming fairy tale adventure through a beautiful hand-painted world.

Not in to platformers but I gave this one a chance and enjoyed it a lot. I was pleasantly surprised by just how powerful the storytelling was, especially considering how it’s not really a strength of the genre. The game has a Ghibli-ish quality to it, both in tone and the way it gradually layers nuance on to its characters.

Started hollow knight 3 hours ago and it’s insanely good once you get the map and start understanding what needs to be done and where you need to go

Just finished Ori and the Will of the Wisps; Blind Forest was fantastic but this game is even better.

The tight platforming combined with a more fleshed-out combat system (clear Hollow Knight influence here) taking place in such a richly textured world made this an incredible experience. The game also does what all great sequels do by reflecting the themes of the original and exploring them further, so I’ll be thinking about the overall narrative of this series for a while.
