Bro, I'm thankful for so many things. This is going to be the first Thanksgiving I've been totally alone, and that makes me sad, so I'm gonna use this post to take stock of some good things in my life.

I'm thankful for my daughter, who isn't with me right now but I'll see in a few weeks. I'm thankful that despite everything I still have a great relationship with her mom and we're doing our best to make things work for our child despite our differences.

I'm thankful that both my parents are still alive and we're on great terms after all these years. My mom in particular has stepped up a lot for her granddaughter.

I'm thankful for the support system I have in LA that's gotten me through a tough transition in my life. I have so many great friends who have my back and I never have to feel lonely.

I'm thankful for my various creative partners, especially my band's current producer, who pushes me to be creative and turns my ideas into realities.

I'm thankful for my teaching job, which gives me a lot of freedom to be myself. I have a number of good friends and mentors there and most of the time I enjoy what I do. That's as much as I could realistically ask for.

And I'm thankful for every day I get to be alive. Every day is another chance to perfect your craft and make things happen.
