Can't stand those 2017 chopped vocal post-choruses anymore, amazing how it dated so quickly
transitions, instrumental progression
if ur not doing that it’s just two songs shoved together
Oh My Dis Side vs Stargazing for example
Every once in a while I feel like I'm done with beat switches, they're played out, I don't need to hear another one, etc. Felt like they peaked with Maad City and then 90210 happened. Then I got in that headspace again and Fake Names happened.
I'm glad producers are still experimenting with them but most admittedly feel half assed.

i only like beat switches when you can tell it’s a meaningful beat switch and the artist has inserted one not just for our experience, but you can sense it felt right for them and the message of the music.
good example: the weeknd - I Was Never There
fully agree with you. when an artist starts to be known for beat switches, then you know there’s a problem. an expected stigma. travis scott an obvious example. feels like he HAS to have a beat switch in his music rather than it being spontaneous
when a song on the same project have a different sound volume. Some mixtape songs are not as loud as the other tracks
When niggas send me music that is so obviously garbage and ask me for feedback. Like bro how do you not know that this s*** sucks? And why are you putting me in a position to potentially have to hurt your feelings
Oh lemme make sure I havent sent Bernie anything ever lmfao
Oh lemme make sure I havent sent Bernie anything ever lmfao
But you’re talented as f*** and have a functioning ear!
1 Bad mixing
2 Artist saying this is their best work and receiving their worst album.
3 Albums longer than 16 tracks
4
I’m talking about when ppl send s*** where the autotune is obviously out of key, their voice is cracking when they’re trying to sing n s*** and they have the audacity to ask you for your thoughts?? What do you think I think nigga?
20+ songs
Feel free to not waste my time
Fax, most rappers aren't worth a 20+ track listen.
hearing generic trap drums and repetitive adlibs and the hook is just the title of the song repeated

it’s always (feat. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne)
