I feel like this album doesn't get talked about enough...obviously The Score is a classic as is Miseducation of Lauryn Hill...Pras "Ghetto Supastar" album was...not a classic (although the title track and Blue Angels are great)...The Carnival was Wyclef's solo debut and was the first presentation of what he intended to be the Refugee All Stars (Fugees, Product G&B, ROC, Canibus, John Forte, Free, etc.)...obviously that idea went to s*** and never really took off like it could have but The Carnival aside from maybe being a bit too bloated is also a classic IMO...Apocalypse, Guantanamera, Bubblegoose, Gone Til November, Year of the Dragon, Tryna Stay Alive, Gunpowder, To All The Girls...Wyclef was in his bag rapping-wise and you still had appearances from Lauryn and Pras while also showing Clef's expansion into a more pop-friendly style...just a real special album to me personally but hardly ever hear it mentioned unless ppl talking about Gone Til November

Very good album, but not a classic IMO. I haven’t revisited in a while, but I remember it being too long and having some weak features. I think most of it holds up pretty well though (after almost 25 years!)

Considering the Grammy nominations, top 10 single on Billboard, double platinum status, and critical acclaim, I wouldn’t call it underrated.

But you’re right about it not getting talked about much today. I think I’ll actually give it a spin tonight

For sure definitely a few tracks he could have left off but for the most part I thought the features all delivered
