For me, if 3 years pass since the album dropped and there are at least 9 songs on the album (doesnt't matter how many songs are on the album) that I still enjoy then its a classic
I'm not with the whole idea of classics having no skippables or only 2-3 skippables. Take Care got like 20 songs and a good 6 of them are instant skips, with 2 more songs being borderline skips depending on the day.
But 8 years pass and I still like 12-14 songs? Thats a classic album.
Also does anyone take into account how much they like the songs they don't skip? Like some albums may only have 6 or 7 songs I go back to but the songs that I like I like ALOT (example: Rodeo). To me that's still a classic.
Personal Classic: It has to have great replay value and still sound great when I listen to it
Classic within the Culture: It has to be majorly decided by the Culture if an album is classic. There are a few albums that are labeled as classics that I don't like, but I'd never argue that it isn't a classic if that's what the majority believes.
A classic to me is something i can always go back to. Years of replay value pretty much.
There are certain albums i can listen to and i feel its as amazing as it was back when i had it on rotation constantly
Blonde
GKMC
ALLA
DAMN
TPAB
IYRTITL
Aquemini
Barter 6
Heres a couple of albums that are personal classics
A classic album can have skippables. Dont know why people act like they cant
