Lots of rappers have never used a ghostwriter

Just depends on what you define as ghostwriting

Because just about every rapper has had some form of assistance on making their verses at some point, it’s common sense.

I’m not referring to artists getting full on songs in secret, that’s kind of a different convo but everyone has and gets help. It doesn’t make sense not to

For me, finding out that some of my favorite daft punk songs are basically just straight loops of 70's funk records with some drums and vocoded phrases added made me feel robbed

Nah, that's normal in the industry. Lot of rappers outside of the industry

When Kanye said he loves Adolf Hitler it made his music sound lame. Really shows what an amazing song "Family business" is because I still listen to it and it's still my favorite song oat.

L on the Daft Punk take respectfully @op

Yeah some samples weren’t the most expanded upon, but samples can also just be like a show of taste and style rather than them trying to flex their production chops (which they definitely have) every time

Kanye Wayne and Drake all likely having writers at some point when they were probably all my top 3 rappers at one point

When people bring up Wayne Kanye or Drakes ghostwriting they are talking about more than “how you think I should finish this line” lol

Yeah that's not ghostwriting to me.

Even taking a verse from someone here and there isn't "ghostwriting" to me.

I guess it's subjective and depends on who's the evaluator of this s***, but if I'm a rapper, and I have bars, It's just not that offensive that you get 6, 12, bars from someone on occasion. It's all cooking up to me. Like, Wayne has probably put out >900,000 verses in his lifetime, I just can't find it in me to care that 2% of those were cooked up by someone else. Or eve 20%

    At this point
