Smacked VoodooDon't care much for Damn outside 3-4 tracks but I know it's widely beloved by many. S***, that album is what catapulted him into music stardom. As for Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, I mean I love that album. Despite KTT swearing people don't like it or it came and went, it performed very well on the charts and the tour supporting it was one of the most successful tours of last year.
Kendrick is in the position to go whatever direction he wants, contrary to what people on KTT say. But I think the most likely direction he's going in is a collab project with Baby Keem and they calling they s*** The Hillbillies. That's how they're being billed on the Flog Gnaw fest at least.
I really think the hillbillies is just a nice way to wrap up Mr. Morale and setup Kendrick’s next era since he been on the Compton Cowboy s*** for a minute now. I just can’t see a collab just yet (would love to be wrong) when Keem been hinting at going in a darker direction on his next project

Nothing in your original post would create space for a solid, critical discussion. I don’t even want to pick on your word choices cause this is just how music is a***yzed nowadays, but you didn’t even put effort into contextualizing what it is about the album that’s mid, you just gave typical remarks that garner a reaction. How about doing some constructive criticism that creates discussions instead of just open ended blanket statements and falsehood

It’s not really fake deep, it’s just not good as music
DAMN actually fits the fake deep label better because he’s not really talking about anything, it’s a bunch of pop songs surrounded by mysterious interludes and doesn’t really have a clear message or concept, very vague themes. Almost feels like some smoke and mirrors s***
Morale is worse but it at least has more content
