I was re-watching the Breakfast Club interview Trey Songz did in 2017 and he mentioned that him and Drake didn't have bad blood but had some things to talk about.
Then he brought Trey out on his tour in 2018.
Then I vaguely remember somewhat recently, Drake and Trey interacted on an IG live but nothing came of it.
Personally, I would really enjoy a Trey feature on this album not just because their music has been one of Drake's staple moments in his career (Sucessful) but Trey Songz is really the first artist of our generation to fully believe in Drake's talent (2006/2007) (Wayne came after).
That whole "laughing on the phone with Trey" comment probably had something to do with it.
Most likely women, namely Nebby & Tanaya Henry
i remember that brief trey ig live where drake chimed in while they were in the studio idk about anything else
Maybe something related to the "she thought I'd never be as big as Trey Songz, boy was she wrong" line

maybe Trey was the "R&B singer" that Drake was supposed to take on the road but he chose Kendrick and Rocky

he tries to make the right choices with the world watching
