    go for a walk
    go to an art museum/gallery
    see a new movie
    read a new book

edit: if you're really struggling though work on the administrative/promo/marketing/less creatively draining things that you have to also do to get your work out there

"Getting" inspired is passive, waiting for it to hit you which is obviously what OP is referring to or else he wouldn't have made this thread. I'm talking about taking it

Don't just try to find the creative ideas within the genre you're in. Use different sources of inspiration, and not even visuals or audio. For example, something as simple as skateboarding and learning a new trick, or working on a new way to inside outside dribble into a step back hesitation jump shot are forms of creating, which in turn sparks a side of your mind to start creating other things..... such as the very thing you were struggling to get inspiration for in the first place.

Been hard to find inspo lately for me too but one thing you dont wanna do when youre stuck is stay thinking about it and trying to come up with s***. Whenever you feel stuck that means just stop and take a break because you need those too. inspiration will come and it doesnt mean that you have to chase after it constantly but it never comes when youre looking for it always when youre not. Best advice is to go out and try new things and listen to new music and meet people and just take in new experiences and youll find it that way. Also dive into yourself and things going on that helps as well

    go to the club tbh

Make samples too. Try to avoid using a softsynth, try to see how you can shape audio of other samples. Making impacts and stuff is fun.

Man, when it comes to music I just listen to live sets. That or find a new sound pack, download an app or something and create in there.

Stay outta my head. Maybe learn a new chord progression or music theory. Always take it back to the basics

  • nigga go live life. read a book that's simmilar to what you're going through and watch s*** like that too. Listen to artists that talk about your same struggles and your earl memories of musci through childhoods.

also go to the stripclub and the clubs and talk to dj's
    listen to what's going on.

pay attention to everything around you.

    and it will come.

I've been in a creative rut for a while and i've been looking for a specific sound and i just wanna hear some suggestions

Mainly by listening to other genres like RnB or Indie Rock etc. or go out to an art gallery, dance club or nature park..

I do production selling beats & sound packs, so sometimes just free playing for a few hours helps too.

Doing something else that is also creative helps sometimes as well. Such as painting, drawing, model building, watching/playing a deep movie or game etc. Get the creative gears turning & working in different ways.
