When I was in uni, I was in the scholar's program and the elitism vexed me to no end. The only benefit of "smart clubs" is that they encourage academic intellectualism that you won't really find in other social circles.

However, these "intellectuals only" groups seem to ignore that the pygmalion effect does more to satisfy the bias than any metric they use to determine intelligence.
