  • What’s in the water over there? I mean everyone associates Brooklyn with hip hop and even the Bronx to a lesser extent but it’s undeniable that Queens has produced the some of the most talented and prolific artists in the genre and in the world. I’ve never been to New York so I have no idea about vibes or whatever but I understand it’s extremely multicultural. Could it be a perspective thing?

I think most people would pick Brooklyn, but Queens is a close second

I think most people would pick Brooklyn, but Queens is a close second

But it’s wrong both statistically and from a quality perspective

Queens has a strong case but don't sleep on Brooklyn.

Jay, Biggie, Big Daddy Kane, Pop Smoke, AZ, Mos Def, Sean Price, Fab, Joey Badass, Lil Kim, Busta, EL-P, Jean Grae, Masta Ace, etc.

Also, GZA and Rae are from Brooklyn if you wanna get technical.

But it can go either way.

Nas, proclaimed by most to be the best rapper ever
50 cent, one of the biggest rappers of all time
Nicki Minaj, the biggest female rapper to ever walk the planet
ATCQ, adored by almost everyone including white parents
Mobb Deep, who have arguably THE most well known instrumental in all of history
Action Bronson, damn near house hold name
    LL COOL J, The One
Run DMC, one of the most important acts in the entire genre

These are just the bigger names

It’s certainly close, I’ll give you that. But if there were some kind of versus thing, so you really think they’d win?

I think Kardinal Offishall was necessary for Drake to exist and he’d probably agree. He helped Canadians take rap and Drake seriously
