not a lot of people like to admit it, but coloring book was his first step in the wrong direction

While I would agree that it was a step down from Acid Rap and definitely the beginning of the Chance The Rapper that exists now, i still think it was a pretty good project. Had some wonderful songs on it like Angels and Summer Friends.

agreed 100% - it's not a bad project at all, but he started to show signs that he was about to lose touch with his uniqueness

And the crazy thing is back in 2016/2017 he had to clout and tools to get pretty much whomever he wanted to work with. Now a lot of artists have no interest in working with him.

I can't believe the mainstream ate that garbage up and I swear he had bots on ktt pretending to like it because no way any Chance fan wasn't disappointed. I think a lot of Ye stans jumped on his bandwidth during the tlop era hurt him to because they didn't actually like him he was just another failed protégé

I just never would've predicted it got to the point it did with The Big Day

He literally was the chosen one and he fumbled it on a level that they'll make an example out of him in the future.

it had a decent amount of mainstream appeal, but yeah, there's nothing more depressing than an artist so desperately and obviously trying (and failing) to make hit songs

And all he had to do was take his 6 or so singles he released in 2018, tack on 5-6 more songs and call it a day. How he fumbled on the level he did i'll never understand.

It got way worse when he tried to blame and sue his manager for the fumble a year or so after

The manager that saw him thru Acid Rap and Color Book is now suddenly the reason your career failed? Stoopid

    It yo own damn fault
