The MONEY, the TEAM, the opportunity for GROWTH. Try and think real hard of the RED FLAGS you've encountered during the interviews but you didn't realize. Real eyes realize real lies.

    MONEY

  • Nov 1, 2022

    What are the offers

Accounting for the most part is recession proof. You won’t be laid off generally unless the company is literally about to go under or you’re bad at accounting

Money - I work to be paid
Upside - Could this company grow? Could my role grow? Whats the future like? Admittedly this is broad
Role - Whats the day to day? As an entry level guy this prolly will be about the same across all
Prestige - If you can go and work at one of the big 4 do it, get it on your res then get out

You should only be working at one company for 1-2 years. No more

    Why

  • Nov 1, 2022

Assuming both are paying relatively fair wages I chose the team, company and work environment I felt reflected my values more > the large name corp that looked flashy on my resume

even if that meant slightly less money

This is what I value. Quality of life is huge and I’m quickly learning that 2 years into working full time

these and culture are the biggest

culture might even be most important to me. my last company checked all four boxes on your list but the glassdoor reviews all warned how toxic it was

s*** was ruining my mental health six months in and i had to dip

Making more money at one place and being miserable isn’t worth more than making less somewhere else where you’ll be happier

    Why

More often than not you make far more money job hopping than you do from getting raises/higher job titles within one company

I doubled my salary by job hopping after working 5 months for my last company

What industry ? I know that’s common in tech. I’m in finance and unsure if that’s appropriate here or if you’ll get side eyed since it’s a relationship culture
