Was just watching this video below:
And it came to my attention how there is right now a transition period in gaming. Specifically, with the impact of COVID and countless accusations of games not being as creative or unique as they use to. Or in some cases, something that continues the mechanical aspects of before but feels anew and refreshing.
To all ya'll KTT2 brehs, what were games that made you go "Damn, this is next gen
". They can be not only this generation but also other eras too. What games have made you feel that what you were playing felt next gen. And why did you feel it's/or was next gen? :khaled
Don't feel like going into detail but, Final Fantasy 16 has its next gen moments for sure
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart; the image quality and use of an SSD for the portals is too clean.
Graphically Horizon Forbidden West is the best looking game I've played on the new consoles and runs fantastically, great facial animation.
A masterclass in optimization, Guerilla really does well with Decima engine, crazy considering it was cross gen, but still looks better than 99% of everything else to come out
Tbh, the way Astro Bot utilizes the Dualsense is more next gen than anything else I've played
Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS4 Pro (not technically next-gen at the time but an obvious fidelity upgrade due to increased specs)

Hell yes!
I hope PlayStation continues it. It's so cerebral and quirky. Made Dual Sense Feel like the next step up imo

I've seen rumors about a full Astro Bot game being announced this year, I can't wait

Absolutely. Wish it was a better over overall rpg but they opted for spectacle and it shows.
TLOU2 as a whole
Spider Man 2โs suit textures and fast travel system
God of War Ragnorak graphically

Playing super mario 64 for the first time after only playing super mario world and other platformers. The first 3d games were amazing. They still have a charm to this day. First time seeing Dead Space, Witcher 2 and breath of the wild all gave me that, this is the future and I am living it feeling in their day.
really just when i played cyberpunk on stadia
stadia truly felt next gen... being able to run a game in 4k 60 fps off of just an internet connection ??? instant updates no downloads??
lmaooo... then pair it with this super sci fi game that I could run on highest settings with no issues on a MAC. yea, that was next gen
ps5 aint even on that fr

Nah, the first time playing GTA4, after playing San Andreas all those years, was a huge leap
