the way i see it, most albums continue on one vibe, story, theme, or mood that holds the album together. a filler track can continue that vibe or whatever, but doesn't take the album anywhere higher or lower. it's a track that doesn't expand on anything that has happened so far or make it feel like it was worth being put on the album. a filler track doesn't mean it's a bad track. it can be both, but in most cases, the track goes in one ear and out the other. it has no purpose in the album. it's the track that would be left on the drawing board or should be a soundcloud loosie at most. if the track never came out, it wouldn't make an impact on an artists career. if it did come out, it wouldn't make an impact on an artists career.

filler songs are subjective, but i would consider it most times to be a solo track since they didn't care enough to put a feature on it. i would also compare it to a tv episode in the middle of the season that didn't get as much of the budget to it because they made 10 great episodes in a 12 episode season and they have 2 episodes that they didn't get enough money to, so they focus more on character growth compared to enhancing the story line

Yeah, said something similar in one of my posts but erased it. Filler is not the same as a skip, you can not f*** with a song but still realize its value. A filler track is just like "What was the point of this? "

It’s filler because it didn’t need to be 3 minutes long. Effectively song could’ve done the exact same not being there or being a short intro to highlights.
