Uuuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh I’ve learned about s*** like this through Scott Adams and studying persuasion. I don’t remember what it was called, but basically if anyone’s counter argument is just flipping things you’ve said against you without any claim or evidence to go with it then you’ve basically won the argument.

Like if you made a positive note on something Hilary Clinton or Bernie did and someone called you a communist for it.

Maybe you’re not in support of them, but nobody wants to have a clean discussion or debate and instead rely on buzz words and victim painting to ‘win’ arguments.
