Vanjess and snoh are cool, their albums didn't do much for me tho
Sunday service up
Isn’t Pilot Talk 4 coming this year?
would be surprised if it actually comes this year but the Alc project is definitely dropping next month
No arguments there either, CLB is clear
I don’t give a f*** how shallow I may come off, but if anyone unironically has DONDA and CLB in their top 2 of the year they need to be bullied desperately, post-haste.

I mean yea it's a basic opinion to have them as ur top 2, but if u look at everything that has dropped this year, they are the only 2 albums that lasted more than a week. I got em in my top 2 and there isn't anything that comes close to them for me. but I see what u mean
1. The Off Season
2. Kings Disease II
3. The Melodic Blue
4. The House Is Burning
5. An Evening With Silk Sonic
1. KD2
2. Vince Staples
3. Donda
4. Bo Jackson
5. CMIYGL
Are my personal top 5 in terms of hip hop
Donda and CLB the only two albums that didnt come and go within 1 week
everything else might be considered "better" from an objective music perspective but is lowkey boring at the end of the day and wont be remembered much.
case in point: both Tyler and J Cole's album
Well, if we're going off that then Eminem and Drake objectively have better albums than most rappers.
But, obviously, Ye and Drake's popularity play a role in their albums lasting longer in the charts.
Says nothing about quality though.

at the end of the day CLB and Donda were the only ones that didn't feel like a "pandemic" album to me
just a covid album to get their fans through this time till "the real" album comes out. only one that doesn't fit that bill is THIB, Dave, and Lil Simz album
My top 5 oty
Jubilee - Japanese Breakfast
Call Me If You Get Lost - Tyler
Glow On - Turnstile
The House Is Burning - Isaiah Rashad
Sometimes I Might Be Introvert - Little Simz
DONDA is good just messy and not as good as any of these imo

That's pretty subjective though.
Case in point, I don't really f*** with Rod Wave like that but his album, SoulFly, objectively has strong staying power in the charts.
I would never rank his album above Vince Staples, KD2, or CMIYGL no matter how much longer it charts.
You're making the common mistake of assuming that the charts reflect the reception of the albums. In reality, Ye and Drake's popularity and the whole drama surrounding the rollouts play a role in that.
