cool how instead of trying to innovate the presentation of linear notes/the itunes 'digital booklet' they just turned album art into a blingee myspace gif

  • Sep 19, 2023

those were the same ones they were already using for album covers

Do you guys really look at the app while you listen to music? These aren't really value adds to me.

I'd be down for artists doing commentaries for albums like film directors though.

  • Sep 19, 2023

I don’t care for any of this tbh. I would rather just look at the album cover

while i hardly wanna encourage DRM locked 'bts' stuff this seems like a huge missed opportunity? was tidal doing anything like this or just boring documentaries about meals on wheels albums?

i'm saying instead of unpaid interns running album art through a machine we could have credits/artist notes/album shoot photgraphy/shoutouts presented with effort on streaming, instead of thru rap "genius" and settings menus

iTunes supports songs having multiple artworks, so having a swipe feature for an album cover would’ve been cool

Idk it just occured to me. If it's anything like the film industry, it would make more sense to incentive physical purchases with it. That's basically what liner notes were. Thomas Pynchon did the liner notes for a random band called Lotion once.

Not sure we get anything like that now. Music is ephemeral
