He did what was right for him career-wise. I'm not hating on that. I'm speaking strictly on the Abel music I came to love and that's everything from Trilogy to Kiss Land. His writing took a noticeable deep once he went more pop and the songs started to feel less personal to me. Obviously, that move made him the megastar he is today and that's great for him but when I revisit his music, I rarely revisit stuff post-Kiss Land.

And he's still making d***ged-out music. It just doesn't hit as hard now now and is more commercialized than ever.

It’s always about the money and the popularity huh

That’s always the excuse for Weeknd and Drake

What happened to being a real artist and the money and the popularity being a BYPRODUCT of the raw expression?

I give props to Weeknd tho cause he isn’t much of a trend rider, every album he chases a sort of different sound

My issue is it’s just not the sound I want him to make i guess lol, I’m selfish. BUT I do think more people would f*** w him, especially now that he’s a world wide superstar, f*** it bro take a “risk” even tho it’s not a risk cause we know you sound good on dark sound scapes
