he may not be appealing to the widest majority of them with his next album which he says will be non rap

but I would say Post and Travis aren’t that far apart from each other success wise

i feel like a huge chunk of post's fanbase was people who will love whichever artist is cool at the time, who has a big hit. they moved onto someone else when he became less of a cool name. and the fans that have stayed will like it when he continues to go into more indie, singer-songwriter-y type places.

whereas travis has amassed an actual solid robust fanbase outside of hit songs and a cool-factor

maybe in 2019 but now travis seems to be wayyy ahead

Post was/is a singles artist while Travis is more known for having bodies of work.

There's a high turnover rate for the former type of artists. Post made the most out of his music career though. Sunflower is one the biggest songs of the last decade. Bigger than Sicko Mode.

Aside from Travis just being a better artist

Post Malone barely even seems like he cares anymore, just seems like he makes music cause it’s his job. Some of it’s nice, but it doesn’t feel important.

I’m not even that much of a Travis fan, but you can tell this s*** is his life.
