ofc its marketing but skill will always prevail at the end of the day, like if you got real talent u will somehow, some way get yout foot in the door
Cardi B has a songwriting award.
Not saying she’s not talented, but I’d be hard pressed to say she’s as successful as she is without mainly her look/personality.
I’ve come across people who didn’t even do music and said if they just focused on their image and how they presented it, they’d gain a following. Music can be figured out in time, or even never at all with the way writers and studio talent can be hired, but an image people gravitate towards is difficult.
facts if u popping in your city u can trip and fall into a music career
but this a recent phenomenon that social media immensely helped. if u already look like u having and can keep a rap on beat you are on your way lol.

don't get me wrong in today's climate if you have a good marketing strategy you will be coasting off of that for quite a while but I'm saying at the very end of the day the people with actual talent will always stick around and will most likely out last the gimmick ones.

not the way the world works
someone who is already cool just gonna steal your sauce and take off lol

probably not for most, but most people give up before they can even reach that... I'm not saying its gonna happen over night it most likely will take way longer than those people with the marketing team and the gimmick set up behind them, but that doesn't mean it's not possible, its just a real hustle.
All the songs u referenced are classics
Like I told my boy no one wanna hear bars man that s*** played
