Feel bad for the people who can't function at all with out it

Lol I’ve always felt like I got ADD, got all the ‘symptoms’ but there’s no way I’m seeing a doctor for that s***

Yeah, as people get older they tend to dismiss being diagnosed as it "hasn't caused any problems for them anyways", even though its effects can become exponentially worse if routine/structure is disrupted.

Not to mention ADHD being socially relegated to a disorder for kids in school and/or a simple "focus problem".

Nah, there's online docs now because of Covid that just screen you fast. Costs like 100-300 but they'll send you off with a script of Adderall

I know 2 people that did it

One thing worth noting is winter can dramatically impact mood/energy in individuals with ADHD, since the disorder is associated with Vitamin D deficiency, which can be exacerbated in the winter

That, magnesium, and L-Tyrosine (or coffee in moderation) might help tide you over in the short-term.

Damn, they switched you to a whole different class lol.

Amphetamine is conventionally the more effective first-line treatment in adults, compared to methylphenidate-based solutions, so it's really unfortunate that you're dealing with this this.

I'm on Adderall XR 30mg and I haven't had any serious trouble getting my medication yet (fingers crossed since I'm due for a refill).

Speaking from anecdotal experience, I've seen that Concerta especially can induce more "highs and lows"/crashes compared to Vyvanse/AXR. Do you feel like that's been reflected during your time on it?

It's especially ironic when you consider that people who have undiagnosed ADHD tend to emphasize its status as a "fake disorder" the loudest

Examples being older people who have gone through life normalizing its symptoms, men attempting to protect their competence, etc.

Yeah fr lol. Vyvanse was also having supply issues too so I guess that’s why we ended up here.

I do feel a bit more crash with the methylphenidate. But also just like less effect even when it is on. And I’m on a fairly big dose. I just think the amphetamine ones work better for me

If only the assumption that a niche online music forum could be generalized to the population was robust.

Random sampling doesn't quite apply here; this demands context to be considered.

The implication that people who use a music forum are guaranteed to have ADHD at a rate upwards of 80% is ridiculous bro.

    Maybe even 80% =/= upwards of 80%

That being said, you're right, it's probably nowhere near that, and the figure is dramatically exaggerated for effect lol. But I am firm in thinking that it the majority of users (upwards of 50%), especially active users, likely have ADHD (based on observation)
