for me Prodigy, thought he was having a resurgence in his career, that album with Alchemist is so f***ing great one of my favs from last decade
r.i.p.
That s*** was so good bro, honestly such a shame
lil peep and mac miller fredo hurt too but when peep died i fkin cried, but ii saw it coming, mac? still gutted man f***
Fbg Duck tbh that s*** just didn’t feel real.
the way they did Duck was crazy. Broad day. 2 cars. Nice neighborhood
Haven’t been gutted by any rapper death but Pac saddens me the most cuz his music & interviews make me think he woulda been a huge black leader like Malcolm / Martin & cultural icon like Denzel / Will
Also Fred the Godson cuz it made me realize this covid s*** was fr fr
I was smack dab in the middle of my high school emo rap phase when x died, took a while to digest for me. It's still crazy to think about where his career would have gone if he never passed, seemed like he was starting to conquer his demons and turn his life around.
X dying completely turned me off of emo rap as a whole, combined with peeps death not even a year earlier I just couldn't listen to that type of music anymore as it felt more like reality than it was an escape
xxx
wish i never saw the vid
X was really sad because I felt like he was going to be the next big star in rap like Drake/Kendrick level
Mac Miller, I remember looking at the KTT thread in disbelief. I been listening to Mac since KIDS era and I literally watched him grow into an amazing artist. His death hurt because he just really wasn't on my mind at the time, I thought he was always going to be there. I remember not really wanting to check for Swimming since I didn't really care for GOOD:AM and Divine at the time. Seeing the news of his death absolutely broke my heart so I just focused on his music and caught up on all the s*** I was sleeping on.
Pop smoke
Fbg Duck tbh that s*** just didn’t feel real.
The video of him rolling around on the floor dying and looking around is absolutely wild
Especially given how many officers were standing around and the part of Chicago he got shot in
MO3. Dallas hasnt had a real scene or a buzzing artist until recently. MO3 had dope ass potential and he follows that boosie-gates-youngboy lineage which I'm a super-fan of. The way he died was crazy to me. Dude a hood legend. I'll never get over his death. Dallas coulda been a buzzing city like jacksonville and detroit. Sht ended up like Baton Rouge and now it's in chaos
His life ended like a horror movie. Chased down and shot in the back of the head on the e way
😔
