ima be honest w you the chances of you making a successful career or even a living wage off music production is slim
same w fashion.
it’s a huge diff between making beats and clothes or shopping as a hobby and actually doing this s*** as a real job/for money.
if you aren’t already fully dedicating your time to one of those things you better start now cause it’s gonna take you 5-10 years before you see any real success/money (assuming that you don’t get extremely lucky or don’t have connections to the industry)
This is true thats why im going to school for audio engineer itll help me develop my hobby of music production and I have something to fall back on that I'll love as well

Not really bro if you really love music you make it just to make something dope that you love not to blow up and get famous lmao. Thats how I see it anyway it would be dope to be a successful musician though, but with entertainment its always good to have a fall back

literally every major producer on ig/twitter has said something along the lines of “it took me 5-10 years to get my first major placement” but ok
it’s called being real w yourself and understanding what it’s going to take to get to where you want and needing the dedication and persistence to get there my g

like I said before.. just check any rap producers history from old mfers like illmind all the way to new gen kids like murda or cash money
all of them didn’t get a major placement till at least 5 years (give or take a few years) after they started producing and most of them already had a musical background before they started making beats aka an extra head start.
If op hasn’t been putting time into his craft or doesn’t come from a musical background he better get to work is all I was saying..
Also you focusing wayyy too much on the 10 years. I only said 10 cause some producers have taken longer than others to get where they are at. Worst case scenario type beat.
believing in yourself is key but all that s*** is useless and might as well just be pipe dreams if you aren’t gonna put in the necessary work behind the scenes
also no one takes that 10,000 hours thing literally my g it’s just another way of saying practice makes perfect.
