I haven't been a serious gamer since probably like 2011-2012ish back when I played ps3 and xbox. I really enjoyed sports games (nba 2k, madden, fifa), first person and third person shooters like COD, far cry, and battlefield, and open world/rpg type games like fallout, fable, grand theft auto, saints row, just cause and mercenaries?
These past few years I havent even owned a console and have just played sports games casually with friends at their houses very occasionally. I have a bit more free time on my hands now though and am leaning towards picking up an xbox one since its cheaper (120-150ish).
What should my first few games be? I literally have no idea whats good rn in video game land?
I wanted NBA 2K20 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare for sure and then wanted to get GTA 5 (which i played before on ps3 but want to play it again and go online), fallout 4, and possibly assassins creed odyssey, far cry 5 and madden 2020.
Are there any other games i should look out for? Are the games i listed good choices? Help out me out with picking fun games based on the games i listed that i like please.
Xbox One Get a PS4, get God of War, eventually get Bloodborne. GTA 5 would be fun too, had it on xbox 360 but I wanna get it again, just for catching on s*** sometimes if other people come over. But God of War is seriously one of the best games I played in my life, renewed my love for gaming after I was getting kinda bored of it

Most ppl like more ps4 exclusives and it has a bigger playerbase (but xbox fanbase it's still big enough to don't have any problem )

Spider-Man PS4 it's already a cheaper PS4 title to begin with
really?
I stopped playing it so idk if they patched the gameplay but it was trash at launch. Prob still is maybe even worse knowing how 2k works
Buy everything but Modern Warfare OP, thank me later
it came with black ops 4 on it so imma just play that for now and ordered digital code of nba 2k20 off amazon for $9 and got fallout 4 free with gamepass
also came with red dead redemption 2, metal gear solid ground zero & phantom pain, the outer worlds, PUBG, shadow warrior, ufc 3, for honor, control, and a few others that don't look that great
not sure how good these games are but ill try them out. might just get gatav for 12 off amazon and assassins creed odyssey for 14.99 off the xbox store and ill be set
