I think dude’s point is that it’d be new and forward thinking soul. Silk Sonic record is great but it’s wearing the throwback influences on it’s sleeve heavy. With enough experimentation ik weeknd could come up w some crazy new s***

Weekend has shown lack of respect to r&b legends, most people in the r&b community don’t care for Weekend like that.
Also it’s a sound that’s not popular in mainstream. Makes no sense for him to crossover, have success, then go backwards.

The way his vocals are muddy on the AH title track and Too Late really reminded me of some shoegaze albums.
Need him to delve into that direction for real.
