If "Zoomers" or critics don't like MBDTF or Take Care anymore, how does that change what the albums meant/means to people? Or the moment that happened as a result?

That's kind of crazy to imply.

it took a few decades but this is how things turned out. sgt. pepper hasn't aged as well as the boomers thought. pet sounds did and that's probably why it's more respected by the younger music nerds.

  • em’s first 2 albums

production on slim shady LP sounds dated as hell with a couple suspect tracks

the edginess of marshall mathers LP’s lyrics have aged terribly. i give it a listen once every few months and i like it less every time. kim is nearly unlistenable

  • Oct 22, 2020

the things is, those aren't the people who in 20 years will be dictating what's popular or was cool to like in the past and present. we'll be old heads and the kids won't care what we think

an albums ability to transcend its own time period and connect to a generation it was not initially released to is a hallmark of its legacy and impact. its sorta what defines something to be a classic

Is the Chronic not a classic?

Don’t why something that’s called a classic like MBDTF will change in 10 years time lol.

i feel that way so much, and it's been especially bad as i'm trying to get into like 5 different genres at once. i've learned to accept that i can't listen to everything and develop a meaningful connection with it, but sometimes i wish i could talk to everyone about their favorite albums

the last time i listened was a few years ago when they released the remix. i haven't revisited since. if i'm looking to get a beatles fix, i'm reaching for rubber soul, revolver, or magical mystery tour.
