all my life ive listened to music at max volume off cheap buds or gaming headsets, i knew no better. recently i copped a pair of audio techna mtx 50's and tried listening at lower volumes. to my surprise, i thoroughly enjoyed it! im hearing much more than usual & everything still slaps at half the volume

    Around 40% or lower.
I want to make music professionally, so I’m a*** about “protecting my ears”

  • Apr 29, 2024

depends on the headphone and situation but usually as low as i can while being able to hear

I’m too obsessed with textures in music to sacrifice volume and I’ve really tried to cut back but I can’t. I need to feel the bass in my skull

Depends on the impedance of headphones/iems but around 60-70%

    100%

I even got amps to go over da max

It's funny I have very sensitive ears, like I hear everything in da music but I need to have it blasting at full volume

I think otherwise, when it's too low, I don't feel like I pay attention enough to da music and end up missing bits

Plus people have this irritating habit of always interrupting u or talking loud about nothingness in the most annoying of pitches imaginable

So if they don't stfu, I have to separate myself from da universe 🤷🏽

    This

I need to feel every bass, every f***in clap, every snare roll

    Every tiny rhythmic synth

Even when da producer is beatboxing a layer along, I need to hear their breath in da mix bouncing off da drums
