Y’all saying DONDA 2 and the full version ain’t even out yet
It’s officially released so it’s fair to judge in its current state

That’s probably the most disappointed I’ve ever been by someone I don’t know. Was a drake stan all through high school and the hype for it was so massive and i distinctly remember getting more and more let down with every song that played in AP Gov lmao
Felt this and it’s been downhill ever since but I do think CLB is a step in the right direction tbh I think with the Kanye s*** ending, he’ll be in a better frame mentally to make something good
I think it was ye for me
Kanye had a perfect track record of albums and the hype of the Wyoming sessions for it to be Kanye’s first miss
I’d agree that this was the first time his antics and controversy backfired on him and it’s been like that ever since. Donda 1 was a step in the right direction and we’ll see what happens with D2
looking back at s*** from the asap rocky testing era and how the album didn't live to the hype of the whole aesthetic
Honestly, the hype was Rocky diehards getting gaslit by AWGE members
I don't think anyone outside of us felt that crazily about the album pre-release.

I was in your exact same shoes. Was a big time drake fan up until that point. I’ll never forget my first listen. S*** was like
It grew on me a lot though. It’s my 4th favorite drake album and may overtake TC for me one day. I recommend you relisten
Carter V for sure
Wayne should’ve spent MONTHS promoting it but I guess after holding it for 4 years he was just ready to get it out and move on emotionally. Still had NOWHERE near the impact it should’ve had considering Carter III and IV were both huge for the culture.
The best and most recent answer is:
100% their fault (prob Bruno’s label moreso)
Good answer. LTDO was a SMASH and Smoking Out The Window was a hit too but man this album did not have the impact it should’ve had.
probably SMF from thug tbh
there was a lot of hype for him finally releasing his debut album but it didnt hold up to the likes of SS3 or jeffery for me
how about deluxe though
LUVTW2 should be considered it’s own separate thing LUVTW2 rules and EA drools I’m afraid

also too much singing on that album
Carter 5 - seemed like it was gonna be the return of wayne and it was hyped up to be his greatest work ever. Not really sure who to blame for that but sadly we see how it went
CLB & Views - CLB was hyped up after we got a bunch of mid tapes from drake dude hade that silly heart s*** on head for so long. Listening to CLB just makes me sad that 40 only prod for drake cuz the whole album he was getting washed by feats. Views is pretty self explanatory.

How are their Vegas shows doing?

Not dropping the album in May/June was a massive f***ing mistake
Probably NASIR.
I was looking forward to that, complete letdown. I blame Kanye more for it than Nas though.
Beats were a lot better than the bars
Random and probably not the most but Fan of a Fan: The Album by Tyga and Chris Brown. Ayo was the lead single so I thought the whole album would be bangers with Mustard type beats. Turned out to be super mid with great value Mustard type beats.

What are you talking about, Carter 5 was super well received

other way around
Scorpion (no real diss, and first listen just seemed so boring, grew on me some tho)
C4 (return to the Carter series, but was just not very good minus some moments)
Blueprint 3 (return to BP series, terrible, not good, sounded washed)
MCHG (big name for a trash album)
Starboy (big Weeknd fan, was intrigued by the fts, Future and Kendrick, both songs ended up being not so good really, and he went so pop which I wasn’t expecting atm, album grew on me some tho)
Pluto x Baby Pluto (my goat and a rapper I think is very talented, but just didn’t work for me, I should give it another try tho)
